Tall Glass

Each and every time you make a call to a potential adoption candidate you hope that they will be special people with kind hearts who have the space for a lucky LongRun horse to become a part of their family.

LongRun horse, Tall Glass made such a connection with the Urbasik family, Edie (Mom) and seven-year-old Mikhaila (daughter).

Edie's description of the type of horse she was looking for fit a number of horses in the program, with one exception - that when she's ready, Mikhaila must be able to ride the horse they adopt. One horse's name jumped off the page - Tall Glass.

Edie set up an appointment at Damastra Farms (LongRun's foster farm) to meet Tall Glass. She fell in love with Tall Glass immediately. He performed like a perfect gentleman under tack. (We think he may have had an idea that this was his opportunity to shine and have his own human).

Edie and Mikhaila visited Tall Glass every weekend thereafter until they took him home on April 5th, 2008.

On one particular day they arrived with two baskets of brightly coloured halters for every LongRun horse at Damastra. Edie commented that although she couldn't take all of the horses, she could give them each a new halter so that when people visit they will know how special each horse is.

Edie observed a change in her horse as she visited him more often. He seemed to respond to love and attention and hold his head a little higher.

We want to thank the Urbasik family for their kind donation and wish them many years of happiness with the newest addition to their family, Tall Glass.
