How Can I Help
Why Not Consider Volunteering?

Here's your opportunity to ensure that our brave, beautiful thoroughbreds find loving, adoptive homes after their racing days are over. Consider volunteering some time to LongRun. You will meet some wonderful people, have an opportunity to interact with our special horses, make new friends and have some fun, too. Perhaps you have a special skill that you think LongRun could use or maybe you just have an hour or two a week that you would like to spend helping the horses. Here are some of the ways we could use your valuable services:

1. Farm Inspection
We ensure that each horse we place is going to a safe and happy environment by doing a pre-adoption site inspection. Volunteers able to inspect farms outside the Metro Toronto area are especially welcome!

2. Adoption Follow-Up
LongRun has a two-year follow-up policy currently in place to make sure that the horse is adjusting well to its new situation. Volunteers would visit the horse every few months and communicate with and possibly assist the adoptive owner with reschooling.

3. Fund Raising
We currently have annual fund-raisers in place which usually take the form of silent auctions or mail campaigns. We can always use assistance with these events, soliciting silent auction items, setting up, etc. and are always open to new fund-raising ideas.

4. Special Event Set-Up
We always need manpower for many of the special informational events we participate in. If you are willing to set up and man a booth at horseshows, trade fairs, etc. and pass out literature on LongRun, please let us know.
