Robert Landry is one of Canada's most successful jockeys and was the Sovereign Award winning rider in 1993 and '94. The Toronto native calls himself a perfectionist and fierce competitor. Years of hard work have thrust Landry into the elite group of Canadian jockeys. Among his biggest victories (he's ridden over 1,400 winners) include the 1998 Prince of Wales at Fort Erie board Archers Bay and the 1999 Atto Mile, worth $1 million, when his mount Quiet Resolve was placed first through disqualification. Robert, a horse lover who keeps records and files on each horse he has ridden, lives just north of Toronto.
