Debbie England has been training horses at Woodbine for two decades and, early in her successful career attended the Sovereign Awards (1990) when her trainee, Diva's Debut was named the champion older mare. Debbie, one of Ontario's first top women conditioners, has trained other top horses such as Bold n'Flashy, Cool Groom and currently, Flashy Thunder and Flashy Anna. Her husband, Phil, is also a top trainer, having conditioned stars such as Afleet, One From Heaven and Thornfield. A horseperson in all aspects, Debbie gallops her own horses and has always ensured her runners are happy and healthy and, when their careers are over, have a good retirement home. Joining the LongRun team, to assist in fundraising and volunteers, is a natural for outgoing Debbie, who also enjoys skiing and golf.
